There’s Beauty in Grace – by Joel

2 Corinthians 8:9 NLT

“You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich”.

Do you remember your first job after College or University? For some, it is what they went to school for. But for others, it was a job to pay off student loans and bills. And so was it to Aaron, a young man fwho set his eyes in becoming a Youth Pastor. When nothing came through, he took a job driving a public transit bus in a dangerous suburb. But soon he got into a serious altercation with tough kids. They assaulted him leaving him with a bloody shirt, swollen eyes, empty wallet and some missing teeth. Aaron was confused, upset, frustrated as he really desired to do ministry. How could God allow this to happen?.

Well, Aaron decided to press charges! The teens were arrested and brought before the judge! Sitting in the courtroom, Aaron felt an overwhelming compassion for his attackers. The anger and resentment was mysteriously replaced by Grace and Love. He realized his calling. God has just gifted him with a “congregation” to minister. The lives were changed not in a Church setting where Aaron wanted but rather in a prison cell where Aaron never imagined.

Where we serve may change, the road we travel may give us a different path. But God’s purpose in our lives remains. His Grace is all we need.

Maybe you are a student today! God may bring you through a path that was never on your GPS. It will be tough and rugged, may have twists and turns, face delays and doubts. But do remember the words of Billy Graham -“The will of God will not take you where the grace of God cannot sustain you”.

May HIS grace meet you in abundance through every road you travel! In every life’s chapter you find yourself in.

Receive it! Live it! Share it!
